To help you understand the process
and to determine whether or not to consider having your ductwork
cleaned, please see the brief description of the process and a
short list of typical question and answers from our experience
with past customers.
| STANDARD DUCT CLEANING PROCESS: |
1.
Video inspection of the ductwork.
We perform a video inspection of the ductwork in question and
provide a recommendation to clean it or not to clean it. This
inspection is done in the customer's presence and you will be
able to see for yourself on the video screen if the ductwork warrants
cleaning. Often times, only parts of the duct system need cleaning.
2.
Cleaning of the ductwork.
The actual cleaning process involves the use of a Rotobrush duct-cleaning
machine that includes a powerful vacuum cleaner with Hepa filtration
and a rotating brush on the end of a hose sent throughout the
ductwork that brush-cleans the entire inside surface of the ductwork.
3.
Clean and replace the grilles/ registers
Wash the grilles and replace them over the original duct openings.
| FREQUENTLY ASKED "DUCT CLEANING" QUESTIONS |
"How often should my ductwork
be cleaned?"
This is a question we get all
the time! The answer is simply only when it needs it, there isn't
a set amount of time that determines the need to have it done.
Simply take a look; pull off
a grille and look into the ductwork to see if it is dirty, or
to get a real good look deep into the duct system where your eyes
cannot see, have us come out with our camera and then make a decision.
"Will cleaning my ductwork
get rid of all the dust in my home?"
No. The dust and dirt that collect
in your ductwork is a symptom or result of a separate problem.
Your central air conditioning system simply recirculates the air
already in your indoor environment. Common problems may be; poor
filtration, ductwork that is not sealed air tight, and dirt and
debris tracked in on shoes or that infiltrates through cracks
in windows, doors etc.
"Will cleaning my ductwork
get rid of my allergy/ sinus problems?"
No. Dirty ductwork is
a symptom and though duct cleaning will help to remove irritants,
the real problem needs to be addressed with a proper filter or
filtration unit, or by having us out to professionally test for and find the true source of the
problem. |
